To enable site and construction work, demolition is one of the most important planning considerations. Commercial and industrial clients, including members of the trade, have used us in our main capacity as groundwork contractors since we first ventured into business back in 2015. One of the main reasons for this comes down to our aptitude for demolition work.
Located in Henley-on-Thames, we undertake demolitions in Wallingford and the surrounding Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Hampshire and Surrey areas. If you would like to know what our previous customers and clients have to say about our demolition services, please take the time to read their testimonials.
Collins & Lane can take on demolition projects of any size and provides a full mechanical and electrical strip-out service. Because of the dangerous nature of this kind of work, our company completes detailed risk assessments and draws up method statements which keep our contractors and clients safe.

Importantly, we have the training and certification required to take on any demolition projects which require the safe removal of asbestos.
The resources we bring to site will usually depend on the scope of the project. Our demolition and groundwork contractors can dismantle small outbuildings by hand but for heavier projects, Collins & Lane can bring in its own plant and machinery. We have fleet vehicles ranging between 1.5 tonnes and 14 tonnes in weight which we equip with specialist demolition attachments.
Demolition projects in Henley-on-Thames, Wallingford and the surrounding areas generate significant volumes of waste. We can remove demolition waste using a 32-tonne grab lorry and, for the largest projects, Collins & Lane can support its grab fleet with the supply of 3.5-tonne tippers.
All waste removed from a demolition goes to a local waste transfer station for recycling so that materials can pass back into secondary production.
For whatever reason you may need Collins & Lane to assist with a demolition project, we adhere to a strict process. Buildings, like anything else physical, will have a finite lifespan. As they come towards the end of that lifespan, buildings fall into dilapidation. Builders and developers purposefully look for land with dilapidated properties to use for new construction projects.
Demolition combines the physical deconstruction of old buildings with the removal of generated waste and with all work completed according to a plan.
Prior to demolition, we follow a four-step process:
Collins & Lane has already completed a sizeable number of demolitions in Henley-on-Thames, Wallingford and the surrounding counties. We have a safety-focused approach that puts the interests of groundwork contractors, clients and members of the public first. We comply with all current trade legislation.
